Why It Matters

Regular Testing Is Essential

Regular STI testing is a crucial part of maintaining your sexual health and overall wellbeing. Many sexually transmitted infections have no symptoms, which means you could have an infection without knowing it. Early detection through routine testing allows for prompt treatment, prevents transmission to partners, and protects your long-term health.

Confidential & Judgment-Free

We provide comprehensive, confidential STI testing in a welcoming environment. Sexual health is personal, and we are here to support you with compassionate, evidence-based care.

Prompt Treatment

If an STI is detected, we provide immediate, confidential treatment and guidance on partner notification. You will never wait long for answers or next steps.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Are STI tests covered by insurance? +

Most insurance plans cover STI screening, especially for individuals on PrEP. Coverage varies by plan. We verify your benefits before ordering labs and will always be upfront about any out-of-pocket costs beforehand.

How long do results take? +

Most results are available within 2–5 business days through Quest Diagnostics. Once received, Ted reviews them and contacts you to discuss findings and any next steps.

What if I test positive? +

We initiate treatment promptly and discuss your options clearly. Most common STIs are highly treatable. We also provide guidance on notifying partners if appropriate, and connect you with additional resources as needed.

Do I need to come into a physical office? +

No. The consultation and result review happen via telehealth. Lab work is completed at your nearest Quest Diagnostics location. Self-swab kits for certain tests are mailed directly to you. The entire process is designed to be as convenient as possible.

I have no symptoms. Do I still need to get tested? +

Yes. Many common STIs — including chlamydia, gonorrhea, and early syphilis — are frequently asymptomatic. Routine testing is the only reliable way to know your status and protect your health and the health of your partners.
